A major system integrator relied on the advice and assistance of Gov Law Tech to help design and implement the Fair Work Ombudsman's Pay and Conditions Tool. Drawing on Gov Law Tech's expertise in business rules management systems, the project delivered online advice to employees and employers concerning their minimum employment conditions. Over 8,000 pages of Modern and Pre-Modern Awards provided the source material for the development of rules to determine base rates of pay, calculate penalty and overtime rates, assess eligibility for and entitlement to various allowances, and leave, termination and redundancy calculations. Gov Law Tech designed the rule architecture, developed rules for the most important an d complex of the agency's use cases, and delivered a system specific training and enablement package to transfer ownership and maintenance of the rules to subject matter experts.
